Our Story & Team
Highland City Church started with a vision to build a welcoming community where everyone can experience God’s love. Located in Ellijay, Georgia, our diverse congregation has seen many lives transformed through worship and service. Our dedicated team of pastors and volunteers is committed to guiding members on their spiritual journeys and creating meaningful connections within our community.

Mission
In Matthew 28:19 Jesus tells his disciples to “Go and make disciples of all nations.” The Great Commission continues to be the same mission of the Church today and is what Highland City Church focuses our efforts towards. Our mission focuses on being and being disciples of Jesus Christ.
What is a disciple of Jesus Christ? Jesus had many followers, but he only had 12 disciples. We are called to be disciples, not just followers! It’s hard to hit a target that you can’t see, so we must first know what a disciple looks like. Jesus tells us what a disciple should be in Luke 6:40; “A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher.” In other words, without question, we are called to make disciples that look and act like Jesus because He is our teacher.
Throughout Jesus’ ministry, he not only taught his disciples but he led by example and then sent them out into the mission field. He modeled the conduct, which is a reflection of character (best summarized by the fruits of the spirit), that he wanted his disciples to reciprocate! At Highland City Church we call these acts, or marks, the M7s. Fully trained M7 Disciples model the character and conduct of Jesus Christ.

Disciples are members of Christ’s Church both universally and locally.

Disciples use their gifts and abilities to serve and meet the needs of others.
Multiplier
Disciples invest in others, helping them grow in faith and equipping them to disciple others in turn.
Magnifier
Disciples live a lifestyle of both private and public worship.
Manager
Disciples manage their money, time, relationships, and bodies in a way that glorifies God.
Maturing
Disciples continuously grow and mature in their faith.
Messenger
Disciples consistently look for open doors to share the message of Christ with as many people as possible.
